North mourns as former ACF BoT chair passes on
The Leadership of the Arewa Consultative( ACF ) and the entire Northern landscape have been thrown into deep mourning following the demise of the Wazirin Fika, Dr Adamu, Fika, a former Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees.
He was also the Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of the Council of the Ahmadu Bello University, ( ABU) Zaria. Family sources disclosed that the late seasoned technocrat passed on mid- flight while on his return journey to Kaduna on Tuesday after a medical check- up in London.
Reacting to the monumental loss, a member of the ACF BOT, Gen, Halliru Akilu (rtd) observed that Nigeria lost one of its foremost public officers that provided quality leadership and direction to the nation’s civil service.

He noted that being one of Nigeria’s early crop of polished administrators, the late Waziri displayed a track record public probity, transparency, accountability and an unparalleled commitment to assigned goals.
Gen. Akilu declared that such selflessness ran throughout the Waziri’s career, first as an educationist in the old Borno Province, in his services to the Northern Region becoming Secretary to the Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA) and his immense contribution to the federal service as a Permanent Secretary in several ministries before topping it up as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
In the condolence message, the former Director of Military Intelligence prayed Allah to grant Dr Fika a place in aljannah, and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss. Dr Adamu Fika was the First Chairman of the National Wages and Salaries Commission, as well the pioneer Chairman, Federal Character Commission established by the Babangida administration and inserted in the current 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
