Northern Youth Group Urges Nigerians to Shun Nationwide Protest, Support President Tinubu
Abuja, Nigeria – In a press conference held today, a northern youth group has called on Nigerian youths and citizens to refrain from participating in a planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1st, dubbed “#EndBadGovernmentinNigeria”.
The group, representing concerned youth organizations in northern Nigeria, argued that the protest would be detrimental to the country’s progress and urged citizens to instead support the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in restoring Nigeria’s lost glory.
“While the citizens’ right to express grievances through peaceful protest is constitutionally allowed, the need to reconsider their actions and resort to dialogue is more important than ever before, considering the multidimensional challenges confronting our nation,” the group’s national president, Sani Danaudi Mohammed, stated.

Mohammed highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by the Tinubu administration, including the student loan scheme, the distribution of 740 truckloads of rice to the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the three-month duty-free food importation window, and the N50,000 grant to 100,000 families in each state.
The group also commended the executive governors of the North-East region for their commitment to reviving the economy and security of the region, and advised against any actions that could undermine their efforts.
“No democratic government in history since the return of the fourth Republic in 1999 has ever given young Nigerians active positions in government from Ministers, SA, SSA, Board Chairmen and Members as well as Head of Agencies like President Tinubu did,” the group added.
The northern youth group urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to give President Tinubu the benefit of the doubt and support his administration’s efforts to address the country’s challenges.
They emphasized that the upcoming election season would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to make their choices through democratic means, without resorting to anarchy.
