NPC to Conduct Trial Census in Kano on July 11

Ahead of the official nationwide census scheduled for 2023, the National Population Commission (NPC) has concluded plans to conduct pilot census in some selected local government areas of Kano state on July 11 of this year.
This was made known by a Federal Commissioner of the Commission, Dr. Isma’il Lawan Sulaiman, during a stakeholders’ meeting in Kano South senatorial zone.

Dr Suleiman noted that the meeting was geared towards sensitizing stakeholders – especially ward heads, village heads, imams and students – with the aim of ensuring that they understand the importance of the trial census.
He added that the surrogate census would be conducted across 9 local government areas in three zones of Kano State, confirming that enumerators and instructors had already been trained on the task ahead.
In his remarks, the District Head of Rano, Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim, who was represented by the Village Head of Madaci, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, commended the commission and assured that they would provide all the necessary cooperation for the successful conduct of the exercise.
