Ohanaeze Kicks as Soludo Offers Amnesty to IPOB Members

Following the spate of security disturbances that have been rocking the southeastern part of the country, occasioned by the activities of unknown gunmen, the Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukuma Soludo, has concluded plans to grant Amnesty to members of the Indigeous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the state who agree to lay down their arms.

This is coming after gunmen attacked a patrol team of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in the state, on Sunday which led to the death of two operatives.
But in a swift reaction, the Igbo apex sociocultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, cautioned the governor against using the word ‘amnesty’ for the members of the outlawed group as they have been constantly wrecking havoc on the people of the region.
Ndigbo, however, declared support for the governor’s efforts in rehabilitating the aggrieved Igbo youth
IPOB extremists have been enforcing sit-at-home orders every Monday across the entire Igbo nation in order to push for the unconditional release of their detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, by the Federal Government.
