Open Letter to Gov Abdulrazaq over Moro Schools in Kwara
POLITICS DIGEST – I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of significant concern that affects the future of education and the prospects of the youth in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In our findings, we have discovered that the lack of science-oriented courses pursued by Moro indigents is a direct consequence of the dilapidated and poor standard of secondary schools in our locality. Specifically, we would like to highlight the condition of Government Secondary School (GSS) Malete, which was once renowned for producing the best students in mathematics in the state during the regime of a military administrator. However, over the years, the standard of education and infrastructure in our secondary schools has significantly deteriorated.
One of the most pressing issues is the lack of properly equipped laboratories for physics, chemistry, and biology in GSS Malete and other secondary schools in Moro LGA.
A well-equipped laboratory is crucial for practical science learning, as it helps students grasp complex concepts and fosters a deeper understanding of the subjects. Without access to such facilities, the interest in science-related courses among students has waned, leading to a decline in the pursuit of these vital fields.
