Pantami, who was the Chairman of the Occasion, said: “The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has since set aside March every year as its “Reading Month”. And this is geared towards promoting the culture of writing and reading among its teeming citizens.
“This shows that the UAE government is passionate about encouraging its citizens to engage in the timeless act of writing and reading. In the digital age, with so much focus on technology, it’s important to remember the value of reading and writing on paper.
“Many of us are now more comfortable with a keyboard than with a pen, but the act of putting pen to paper has a unique value that cannot be replicated by technology.”
He described Dr. Ya’u Sule as a prolific writer, seasoned university lecturer and eminent communicator par excellence.
The literary event had in attendance the Honourable Minister Information and National Orientation, Alh. Mohammed Idris Malagi, former Kano State Governor, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau, and the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, among other dignitaries.
