18 Parties Commends INEC For Deregistering 74
POLITICS DIGEST – Eighteen political parties on Tuesday have commended the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of de-registering of 74 political parties in the country.
They described the electoral commission’s effort as commendable, saying the development will sanitise the electoral process in the country.
INEC had last week announced the deregistering of 74 political parties in the country over their failure to win at least one political post in the 2019 general elections.
The parties also constituted an interim management committee for the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), chaired by the National Chairman of African Action Congress (AAC), Dr Leonard Nzenwa, to steer the affairs of the council pending the election of a new executive.
