PDP Crisis: Wike, Ortom, Makinde, Two Other Governors Shun Atiku’s Campaign Flag-off

Governors loyal to the Nyesom Wike camp in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday boycotted the official inauguration of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The Governors include Wike himself, Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State; and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
Some other stakeholders believed to be loyal to Governor Wike were also absent at the inauguration ceremony.
Other PDP governors were however present at the event.
The Wike camp had in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, recently announced that its members will not campaign for Atiku Abubakar in next year’s presidential election except the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, is made to step down for a southerner to take the position.
