PDP Represents Failure – Buhari
…You have nothing to Offer, Ayu Fires Back
By Kabir Akintayo
President Muhammadu Buhari has referred to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a symbol of failure.
The President made the assertion during an exclusive interview with Channels TV aired on Wednesday night.
Asked by the Channels TV crew on what comes to his mind when he hears of PDP, the President simply said ‘failure.’
In a swift reaction, Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, said watching the interview for him was a waste of time.
He said the President has nothing to offer and that Nigerians should stop looking at his direction for hope.
“There was nothing new coming from the President. As we have said before, expecting anything new from our President is an unfortunate waste of time.”

Ayu also criticized President Buhari’s statement that state police is not an option.
“It appears the continued killings in some localities in Nigeria, particularly in the North, and more specifically in President Buhari’s home state of Katsina, do not matter to him, with his statement that State Police is not an option.”
“From the economy to insecurity, killing of innocent farmers by terrorists (which some erroneously term farmers/herders clashes) and other sundry issues, President Buhari honoured his calling as a President who has nothing new to offer,” he said.
He also condemned the President’s insistence on the resuscitation of old grazing routes, adding that he is expanding the frontiers of war instead of bringing peace.
The PDP national chairman also berated President Buhari for repeating what he described as “the impotent argument” of grazing routes.
“Well, what the President failed to reference is that the herders plying the grazing routes before, neither carried AK47s, nor did they engage in raping of women and despoliation of the assets of those along the routes. Mr President’s position of saying the locals should be asked what went wrong flies in the face of reason and contemporary realities,” Ayu argued.
