Kano Guber: PDP Expresses Shock over Appeal Court’s Verdict, Considers Heading to Supreme Court
POLITICS DIGEST – The candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kano state governorship election, Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed shock over the ruling of the appeal court reaffirming the reelection of governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The Appeal Court sitting in Kaduna has on Friday dismissed the petition filed by PDP and its candidate Abba K. Yusuf challenging the affirmation of Ganduje’s victory in March 9 governorship election in Kano state.
Abba stated this on Friday in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

He stated that their legal team is currently reviewing the judgment after which they will decide on the next line of action to reclaim what they describe as the stolen mandate of Kano state people.
“We will not relent on our efforts to secure justice and fairness to the electorates, who were out massively to cast their votes on Saturday, 9th March, 2019 and those that were harassed, intimidated, maimed, killed or disenfranchised during the March 23rd supplementary elections”, the statement said.
“We want to use this opportunity, to appreciate our teaming supporters who have been praying intensively for our success in this legal battle, while reminding them on the need to remain calm as we have no state other than Kano, the peace of our dear state is paramount.”
Yusuf added that they still have hope in the judiciary despite today’s ruling, stressing that they will move ahead in high spirit until the expected victory is attained.
