Plateau Command Gets New Commissioner of Police
POLITICS DIGEST – Hassan Steve Yabanet has assumed office as the 44th Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command. This follows the traditional posting of the Nigeria Police Force.
Yabanet who took over from his predecessor, Okoro J. Alawari, now elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), hails from Kaduna State.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) at Police Academy Wudil, Kano.
He holds a B. A (Hons) in Administration from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.
A statement by Alfred Alabo, the police Public relations officer (PPRO) in charge of Plateau state added that
the new CP has vast experience in policing having attended several tactical and leadership courses within and outside Nigeria.
The Commissioner of Police has served with distinction in operational, investigative and administrative capacities across various Police divisions, zones and State Commands in the country.
