Police Nab 4 Robbers Terrorizing Kano Estate

The Kano State Police Command have arrested members of a notorious armed robbery gang that specializes in burglary of houses at Tishama Hotoro Quarters, in Kano metropolis.
One Mallam Kabiru Tukur of Tishama Hotoro Quarters was said to have put a distress call to the State Police Command on Sunday, alerting it of the activities of the robbery syndicate, whom he said have forcibly broke into his house twice, and robbed him of his plasma TV and four mobile phones.

According to the Command spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiwaya, on the receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, directed a team of ‘Operation Puff Adder’ led by CSP Mansur Idris, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Hotoro Division, to track and arrest the criminal elements.
The names of the four suspects arrested were given as Idris Mohammed, 19; Nasiru Abdulhamid, 24; Sunusi Ibrahim, 27 and Bashir Yunusa, 25.
The PPRO said the suspects, during investigation, confessed to carrying out all the robbery cases perpetrated in the area.
He said the Kano Police Commissioner has directed that a discreet investigation be carried out after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
