2023 Polls Update: Chaos at Abuja Estate PU as Hundreds Yet to Vote Protest (VIDEO)
By Zeenat Sambo,
No fewer than 200 voters at the CITEC Estate polling unit of Gwarimpa, in Abuja, are kicking against the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s officials to end voting at their polling unit.
But some of their colleagues who have voted insist that the sorting of ballots already casted must begin.
Politics Digest reports that accreditation and voting commenced late at the unit, a situation that caused the entire exercise to be concluded around 7:20 pm (this evening).
However, about 200 persons who were accredited are yet to vote as at 7:45 pm.
The affected persons, in protesting the decision of the INEC officials at their polling centre, warned that sorting and counting of ballots will not start until they were allowed to vote.
One of the ‘angry’ voters queried why INEC personnel at the polling unit will say their ballots papers have been exhausted, while some of them are yet to cast their ballots.
