The Power of Precision
By Douglas Ogbankwa
Precision is defined as the quality or fact of being exact or accurate
Life is a complex trajectory of many vagaries. The things of this world answer to accuracy and exactitude. You do not take any thing for granted and you should cross the Ts and dot the Is.*The attitude of “It does not matter” is for failures* Every thing about this life matters. Never you make up your mind about a matter until you do your Independent investigation There is the danger of a single story.
Excellence is a great virtue in life. Never you be an average person in the performance of your duties. Pay great attention to details. The devil is in the details.
Do not be associated with mediocres , else you will be infected by mediocrity. He who strives for excellence is not complacent to mediocrity. Be very sure of the out come of an action, before you proceed, that is precision. Never you live a life on 50-50 out comes. Let your assurances of positive outcomes be 100 Percent.
Precision means not just doing a thing, but checking for assurances that the thing has been properly done. Precision also means going the extra mile. When you go the extra mile, it takes you to extra mile in life .

Precision changes the world. Like when you wake up in the morning, you make your bed, the room will look neat. You eat and immediately wash the dishes, there will be no flies .You get to the traffic light and you stop, there will no traffic log jam, you spill water and clean it immediately, no one will slip. You lock your door and you double check whether it is actually locked, you will be secured. You lock your car and you double check the doors, your car is unlikely to be bugled. You write a Letter or you write a post on line and you check the wording again and again to see if there was a mistake, or whether you have not defamed some one.
Precision is some one asking you to send a number and you send it immediately before you forget. You get paid for a job and you disburse money for execution before you know what is left as gain. You mourn with people when they are mourning and celebrate with them when they are celebrating. You are owing some one Money and you pay before they ask. You should do a background check on people before you bring them close. Precision is keeping a secret. You tell a secret to one person, the whole world knows. The wall has ears.
Precision is checking whether you have taken all you need for the day from the house before you go to work .”Oh, I have locked my keys inside”, this is the ranting of a mediocre. Having a check list of the things you want to do for the day is a testimony of Precision. Having a diary for your meetings is another.
You see successful people and you are jealous of them or admire them. Do you know how they got there? Read autobiographies, it is the manual of successful people. I have some recommendations “My Life”-Bill Clinton, “My Story ‘-Hilary Rodham Clinton,” Dreams from My Father – ‘Barrack Obama, “My Watch “-Olusegun Obasanjo,” The Accidental Public Servant “-Nasir El-Rufai, “Long Road to Freedom”-Nelson Mandela “My Life”-Tony Anenih , etc.
Precision is like playing chess or draft. Every movement is important and one wrong movement is fatal So Precision connotes thinking about the consequences of your action before you take the action. Actions have consequences. Be wise as serpent, but harmless as a dove .
