Our Administration Needs Your Prayers to Succeed, Osinbajo Tells Nigerians
POLITICS DIGEST – Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has urged Nigerians to pray for the government to succeed in handling the nation’s challenges.
He stated this when members of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) on Sunday held a peaceful rally in Abuja.
They urged the Federal Government to stop the killings in the land, restore peace and promote unity among all religions.
Osinbajo spoke in Abuja at the first 2020 plenary meeting of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
The Vice-President, who was represented by Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, said: “It is difficult to speak in this place, honestly. We need to pray for the government.”
President of CBCN, Most Rev. Augustine Akubeze, advised Christians to speak with one voice and condemned the killings in the country.
The cleric stressed that the government needs to accept the reality that the country is under siege and end insecurity.
He urged Christians to pray for peace.

“Government officials pass through Federal roads and they see what is going on with heavy security. This is a clear sign that all is not well. What government can do is to accept this fact and work on it. Government must work to tackle terrorism in the land. The presence of terrorists in our land poses serious danger to the nation.”
