Help us Protect Power Installations From Theft, KEDCO Urges Customers
POLITICS DIGEST – The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has appealed to customers in its franchise areas to assist in tackling the rampant cases of electrical installation and transformer-oil theft.
The company stated this in a statement on Monday, adding that the problem is increasing in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states.
“Some unfriendly members of the public have taken advantage of the rainy season to perpetuate their heinous acts and this is causing serious economic loss to us as a company”, said KEDCO.

According to the DisCo, “Though the installations and distribution network facilities belong to KEDCO but since these installations and other facilities are used to render services to our numerous customers, the public has a major stake in the equipment and also has the responsibility to protect these installations.
“So, we appeal to the members of the public to own up these installations by reporting any suspicious and suspected movement, theft and other related issues around KEDCO installations to security agencies or nearest KEDCO’s offices”, the company added.
The Kano Disco then called on its customers to remain vigilant and observant with electrical installations even in their homes to prevent avoidable accidents relating to electrical faults.
This, according to them usually occurs during the rainy season.
