Protest, Withdrawal of Aspirants, Disrupt Ekiti APC Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Ekiti State on Thursday, was disrupted by protests and withdrawal of seven aspirants who alleged unfair constitution of the primary election committee.

members protesting in front of APC secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, expressing their dissatisfaction with members of the committee, insinuating that they were unduly selected to favour one of the aspirants, a former SSG, Biodun Oyebanji, who is said to be governor Fayemi’s anointed candidate.
Politics Digest had earlier reported that Seven aspirants withdrew from the exercise, which include Kayode Mojo, Demola Popoola, Femi Bamisile, Bamidele Faparusi, Dayo Adeyeye, Opeyemi Bamidele and Afolabi Oluwasola.
Meanwhile, one of the aspirants, Biodun Oyebanji, has declared that the APC Appeal panel will tackle all controversial incidents surrounding the outcome of the election.
He however declared the election as free, credible and fair, debunking the allegations of his opponents.
