The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Dr Betta Edu, has assured Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state of the support of Nigerian women in his bid to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
She described Governor Bello as a friendly governor who encourages equal participation of women in governance.
Receiving a delegation of women leaders from Kogi state at the party secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, the women leader charged them to conduct a house-to-house campaign and inform people of the importance of voters’ cards and the need to vote for APC at all levels.

“Women own elections. We will always support any aspirant that believes in women inclusion. Yahaya Bello believes in women and we women will always stand with him.”
“We will be working with the Kogi State Governor to empower women in the market after they must have shown their voters’ cards and APC membership cards. We will also be empowering women in all the states, but Kogi will be first on the list,” she said.
According to her, APC is assured of victory across all elections since the party has made forms available free of charge for the women.
Earlier in her remarks, Secretary to the Kogi state Government, Mrs Folashade Ayoade, said she is the only female holding the position of SSG among the 19 states of the North, adding that the Head of Service of Kogi state, Deborah Ogunmola, is also a woman just like the Aide De Camp (ADC) to Governor Bello.
