Rep Alhassan Doguwa Arrested by Police Over Election Killings In Kano State
The State Criminal Investigation Department of Kano State Police Command has arrested Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Dogowa.
It was gathered that Doguwa was on his way to Saudi Arabia for a Lesser Hajj when he was picked up at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport this Tuesday evening.
The arrest may not be unrelated to the murder of about 15 opposition supporters in Tudun Wada Local Government during the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Reports alleged that some people were locked in the secretariat building of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP in Tudun Wada Local Government Area on Sunday evening and set ablaze. The situation made it impossible to rescue the victims.
Other victims who were shot and injured during the deadly incident allegedly identified Doguwa as the person who attacked them with a gun in his quest to win re-election into the House of Representatives.
Videos sighted by newsmen showed charred bodies being evacuated from the NNPP Tudun Wada office. In one of the videos, the victim was interviewed and he identified Doguwa as the person that shot him.
The Police confirmed on Monday morning that the NNPP office in Tudun Wada LGA was attacked by hoodlums suspected to be political thugs.
