Reps Minority Caucus Decries Flooding, Urges Immediate Action
POLITICS DIGEST- The House of Representatives Minority Caucus has expressed sadness over rampaging floods in some parts of Nigeria that has led to the loss of lives and properties.
Recall that Maiduguri metropolis and parts of Bayelsa, Bauchi, and other parts of the country were heavily flooded due to heavy rains on Sunday night, Monday, and Tuesday morning.
In a statement issued by the House of Representatives Minority Caucus and signed by the caucus leader, Rep Kingsley Chinda stated that:
“Our hearts bleed over the flood disaster that engulfed some parts of the country and unquantifiable properties that were lost at this precarious time.

“Also our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones and livelihoods over the disaster.
“We call on the governments at all levels to double their emergency efforts and commended the efforts of humanitarian organizations working tirelessly to provide relief and assistance to the affected communities to cushion the effects so far.
The caucus further stressed that: We’re equally using this opportunity to call on the Federal Government and various state governments across the federation to put proactive measures in place to checkmate future disasters of this magnitude rather than adopt the same old fire brigade measures after the act.
The caucus also prayed for the souls of the departed, expressing heartfelt condolences to families of the victims.
