The campaign council, christened “New Rivers Vision Consolidation Project”, has former PDP chairman in the State, Chief Felix Obuah, as director-general while Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is the chairman.
Politics Digest had constantly reported the lingering unraveling crisis rocking the PDP, especially since the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike lost the party’s presidential ticket to Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Wike alongside other four governors from the South, including governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State popularly dubbed the ‘G5’ have been constantly demanding the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu to step down from his position in the sake of fairness and in accordance to the party’s constitution since its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is from the same Northern region as Ayu.
