POLITICS DIGEST- The Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine has told its citizens who live in the country that it will offer no assistance for their safety and security in the face of the ongoing Russian invasion.

This was contained in a statement released by the Embassy on Thursday, following the announcement of military operations in Ukraine by President Vladmir Putin.
The Embassy said the citizens must take responsibility for their own safety and security.
The Embassy said it felt compelled to give the striking notice after hearing of heavy explosions across the country as Russia’s foreign minister warned of the impending “full-scale invasion.”
Nigerians studying in Ukraine have expressed worry and helplessness, calling on authorities to protect them against harm.
