Sack Magashi Now, Probe Nanono, APC Chieftain Tells Buhari
POLITICS DIGEST– Former Chairman, The Buhari Organization (TBO), Alhaji Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwamanda, on Friday called for the immediate removal of the Minister of Defence, General Bashir Salihi Magashi, over alleged incompetence.
Buhari’s associate who spoke in Kano, similarly enjoined the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to probe the activities of the immediate past Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono.
Kwamanda, a top stalwart of the All Progressives Congress said, General Bashir Salihi Magashi has failed Nigeria and Nigerians in discharging his constitutional duties as Defense Minister.
Kwamanda lamented that “Today, the security of the North where General Bashir Salihi Magashi comes from in particular, and the entire country, in general, have been comprised by non-state actors, and the sad commentary is that these are happening against huge budgetary allocations to his ministry.”

He noted that “We have an interesting situation under General Magashi where the sitting President has provided an enabling environment for results, and success, yet we keep losing ground to the audacious ragtag army.
The soft-spoken Buhari’s Associate said Magashi apparent failure at the defence ministry vindicated his earlier position against his appointment to the strategic ministry.
Commenting on Alhaji Sabo Nanono, who was sacked as Agriculture Minister last Wednesday, Kwamanda said a Panel of inquiry should be set up by the Presidency to Investigate his tenure as Minister while EFCC on their part should probe his financial dealings.
He however said, “President Muhammadu Buhari should replace the sack Minister of Agriculture with somebody from Kano because there are competent Politicians and Retired Generals that can handle the job better.
“We have enough retired Generals like AbduRahman Dambazau, Nasiru Babbale Illa and so many others who will be up and doing to restore peace not only to the North but the entire federation.
He said, “But the reality remains that President Muhammadu Buhari has done enough for Kano State who for the first time appointed two senior Ministers from the state, the people’s and the Elites are highly grateful, but those positions should be retained for the state.”
