Supreme Court Verdict: It Is Time to Fire on All Cylinders Mr President
By AbdurRaheem Sa’ad Dembo
There is no doubt about the fact that Nigerians’ expectations are very high at the moment as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured victory at the Supreme Court. It is now time for business of good governance.
The last five months have not been rosy for the citizens of the country due to high inflation occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy. In the book of ordinary Nigerians and the political elites, it is time for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use magic wand in turning around the economy for good.
To buttres this, the senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, Senator Saliu Mustapha said:” The Supreme Court has delivered its final judgment on the Presidential Election Petition, upholding the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
I congratulate them once again. It is heartwarming to see that the will of the people has been revalidated by the apex court. Now, we can fully focus on the business of governance”.
Similarly, in his congratulatory message the Kwara state Governor opined: “I send hearty congratulations to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the reaffirmation of his electoral victory by the Supreme Court today. The judgement is yet another testament to the fact that the February 25 Presidential Election represented the wishes of the largest majority of Nigerians who participated in the civic duty.
I also congratulate our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the victory which is a triumph of truth over fact-free claims.
I commend the judiciary for the courage to stand with the constitution in the face of obvious provocation and intimidation. This judgement has elevated the cause of jurisprudence in our country.

It is my belief that the verdict of the Supreme Court will further strengthen the will of the President to bring renewed hope to the good people of Nigeria. I urge everyone to support Mr. President in his efforts to build a prosperous country”.
Looking at the last paragraph of the message by his Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq it recapitulates the will of the president to bring renewed hope to the good people of Nigeria subsequent to the Supreme Court judgement.
It is imperative to say that there would be no room for excuses that could warrant justifying abysmal performance. I can remember President Bola Ahmed Tinubu himself once said that nobody should pity him, because he craved for the job.
Hence, I want to remind President that no Nigerian would indeed pity him in the face of harsh economy. So he should sit up and fulfil his promises to Nigerians.
A young man recently shared with me how his mother usually complain about how life has become miserable for her under the current government. The woman in question is a widow, she has to buy 4 cups of rice every morning which cost 800 naira, to cook for herself and her grand children. She was quoted to have said life has not been easy for her since this government came onboard.
In a video that has gone viral where Mr President was seeing telling his aides that their jobs are now secured. He made the statement after the Supreme Court judgement yesterday. It is significant that similar assurance is also needed for the masses because their lives too must be secured under the current struggling economy.
As a patriotic Nigerian it is my responsibility to support the government in order to succeed and remind the authority once in a while on the need for good governance. Yes, the government has constantly rekindled the hope of Nigerians, almost on daily basis, that things will get better.
Just yesterday President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was quoted to have said that the pains Nigerians are going through are temporary. We pray to the Almighty Allah to grant such wishes that will turn around the fortunes of our dear nation.
