Gov Sule, Tallen, Akume, Others Storm Awe for Bazaar, Thanksgiving
POLITICS DIGEST – The Executive Governor of Nasarawa state, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, his Plateau state counterpart, Simon Lalong in company of the Minister of Women Affairs and that of Special Duties, Dame Pauline Tallen and Senator George Akume would storm Awe, the seat of Awe Emirate to participate in this year’s Harvest thanksgiving and Bazaar of St John’s Catholic Church.
The event, put together by the Parish Priest of St John’s Catholic Church Awe, Reverend Father (Dr) Lawrence Soja Anyembugu would hold on December 1st 2019 at the Church premises with a theme: “Harvest of Exodus, Building of the Lord’s House and Peace”.

Among other seasoned politicians and government officials billed to grace the occasion are Hon Labaran Maku, who will be the guest speaker, Sir(Dr) Mike Okiro, former Inspector General of Police and the immediate past Chairman of the Police Service Commission who has graciously accepted to be the Father of the Day, and Nasarawa state First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule who will be the Mother of the day, the grandfather of the day will be former senate President, Senator David Bonaventure Mark, while the chief host will be the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Lafia, Most Rev(Dr) Mathew Ishaya Audu.
The Chairman of Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa state Hon Umar Abubakar Dan Akano would also grace the occasion while the Emir of Awe, His Royal Highness Abubakar Umar 1 would be the Royal father of the day.
Speaking to newsmen ahead of the event, Rev Fr(Dr) Lawrence Soja Anyembugu said the politicians who will be coming from different political background have been carefully invited to come and preach the message of peace and love and touch lives of parishioners of the church by helping to build a befitting place of worship at St John’s Catholic Church Awe.
Recall that Rev Fr (Dr) Lawrence Anyembugu who was the immediate Parish Priest of St. Sylvester Catholic Church New Nyanya in Nasarawa State has to his credit the building of standard Church reminiscence of a cathedral before his exit few months ago and plans to replicate the New Nyanya episode in Awe to the glory of God Almighty, apart from officiating and wedding almost two thousand couples in marriage during his tenure in St Sylvester Catholic Church.
