48 Hours After Assuming Office, Tinubu Yet to Make Official Appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is yet to make any official appointment after spending 48 hours in office.
The rumoured appointment of a Presidential spokesperson, Special Adviser (SA) on Digital Media and State Chief Protocol (SCOP) to the President, is yet to be confirmed in official quarters.
POLITICS DIGEST can report that one of the rumoured appointees has also debunked the story.
The appointment of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Chief of Staff and Presidential Spokespersons are always first in a new dispensation, and at such, the SGF issues letters of appointment to new appointees.

The immediate past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari took six months to appoint ministers and three months to appoint SGF and Chief of Staff, but media aides were announced within 24 hours of coming to the office.
Tinubu, who promised to hit the ground running, immediately after swearing-in, is yet to unveil any appointment.
President Tinubu has therefore been working without official aides though some of his early actions have been noted by Nigerians.
With a strong statement, the President pro-actively dealt with a stand-off between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) over a building belonging to the latter in Lagos.
Also, President Tinubu after pronouncing that fuel subsidy is gone during his inauguration speech, met with the Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday.
He also commiserated with the family of media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi, over the loss of their patriarch, Raymond Dokpesi, who was pronounced dead on Monday.
