2023: Tinubu, APC Dare IPOB, Move Campaign Train to Anambra, Imo on Mondays
By Ozumi Abdul
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign train
will hit Anambra state on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Anambra state is the epicentre of lawlessness and anarchy caused by secessionist activities by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) and residents are not allowed to go out of their respective homes on Mondays.
Anambra is also the state of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who was a two-term governor in the state.
Obi has been criticised for not speaking against the sit-at-home orders in the southeast which IPOB and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) militants violently enforce.
Obi’s supporters have also been criticised for not taking any of their campaign processions or one- million-man marches to any southeast state on a Monday which would have been a big statement against IPOB and also projected Obi as a candidate who truly believes in one Nigeria.

According to the campaign schedule made available to POLITICS DIGEST on Thursday, the Tinubu/Shettima train will also be in Imo state on Monday, November 21, 2022.
The southeast zonal stakeholders’ meeting will also take place on that day in Owerri, Imo state capital.
For months now, Monday is a day earmarked by the proscribed IPOB as a sit-at-home day across all the South Eastern states in solidarity protests for Kanu, who has been in detention facing treason charges.
It however remains to be seen whether this move by the APC to campaign on Mondays in the southeast is just a coincidence or a strategic move to dare IPOB on their turf and make Obi look incapable of leading Nigeria.
While he continues to deny any link with the separatist group seeking to balkanise Nigeria, some northerners have continued to link the LP candidate with the group, citing his blunt refusal to criticise them or condemn any of the murderous activities traced to them.
Miyetti Allah’s national secretary, Saleh Alhassan, recently said the Fulani will not vote for the former Anambra state governor because of his alleged link with IPOB.
