2023: Tinubu, the Marketable Brand for APC – Babachir Lawal
By Kabir Akintayo,
A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Mr. Babachir Lawal, has revealed why frontline presidential hopeful, Bola Tinubu, is the candidate to beat, ahead of the All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries in May.
According to him, the Tinubu brand is one that can be ‘marketed’ to the electorates.
Lawal, stated this on Friday, when he led a delegation of the Tinubu Support Groups, TSOs, to obtain the APC’s expression of interest and nomination forms for the former Lagos State Governor, who is in Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj.
He said many Nigerians are not oblivious of the track record of performance and leadership pedigree of Tinubu.

The ex-SGF, who said their coalition of groups drumming support for the APC national leader’s aspiration, will not have thrown their weight behind Tinubu if he stands no chance in the 2023 presidential race.
A federal lawmaker, James Faleke, who was among the delegation that stormed the International Conference Centre, ICC, to get the APC forms for Tinubu, said, “Asiwaju at the appropriate time will deliver his address to us but know that this country under Asiwaju will be better, the economy will be better because he is an economist not a lawyer. He will deal with the economy, he did it in Lagos. Majority of the challenges in Lagos were surmounted by him. He is a man who rewards loyalty. He will ensure people who work will be taken care of. Employment opportunities are better off, the issue of insecurity will remain a thing of the past. The civil service in Lagos was reformed, he will do it again in Nigeria”.
When asked the mode of primary Asiwaju camp would prefer, Faleke said “It is the party that has the authority to decide on the mode of primary, it is not in our purview to do that. As far as we are concerned whether direct or indirect we will win the election by the grace of God”. He maintained.
