72 Hours after POLITICS DIGEST Story, Tinubu Redeploys 62-year-old Youth Minister
POLITICS DIGEST- President Bola Tinubu has redeployed Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Ministry of Youth to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
According to a statement by Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the Ministry of Youth is to be re-assigned to a new minister-designate soon.
This is coming 72 hours after POLITICS DIGEST in an exclusive story exposed the fact that Engr Momoh is 62 years of age and may not be the ideal man to head the Ministry of Youth, in line with the agitation of Nigerian youth groups in recent years.
Momoh’s name was among the 45 ministerial nominees screened by the Senate in July.
He was also among the nominees that were given portfolios by the President last Wednesday before Sunday’s reshuffle, and they are being sworn-in at the State House, Abuja, at the time of filing this report.
Nigerian youths have over the years kicked against the appointment of older people as representatives of the youth constituency in any capacity.

It is not clear if the President will choose Momoh’s replacement from among the yet -to-be-confirmed ministerial nominees or he will send a fresh name to the Senate.
