Tudun Wada Community Confers Traditional Titles On Ex-CBN Deputy Governor, 21 Others
POLITICS DIGEST – The Tudun Wada Community in Nassarawa Local Government area of Kano State has conferred different traditional titles on its 22 sons in recognition of their contributions to the development of the area.
The gesture is also aimed at strengthening the traditional institution and the cultural values of the people of the community.
Those conferred with the titles included a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Alhaji Ahmad Garba, who was turbaned as Wambai of Tudunwada, Gen. Umar Usman(rtd) who was turbaned as Wali of Tudun Wada, while Col. Yakubu Bako (rtd) was turbaned as Danmajen Tudunwada.

Others were Col. Habibu Shuaibu(rtd)- Galadima of Tudunwada, Col. Umar Malami(rtd) – Tafida of Tudunwada, a retired Head of Civil Service of Kano State, Rabiu Zakaria – Turaki of Tudunwada, Mallam Yusuf Yunusa – DanMasanin Tudunwada, Umar Usman Umar as Wazirin Tudun Wada, Abdulmumin Babani, a former Deputy Managing Director of KAROTA as Talban Tudunwada and Barrister Saidu Muhammad who was turbaned as Madaki of Tudunwada, among many others.
Turbaning the new traditional vtitle holders, the Village Head of Tudunwada, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, said the gesture was aimed at stimulating development in the are and bring the recipients closer to their ancestral homes.
Aliyu said that Tudunwada had been one of the most peaceful areas in Kano as it had never witnessed any measure of breakdown of law and order.
He said most of those turbaned were highly known for their contributions to the development of the area in their respective fields of endeavour, and as such a reciprocal arrangements to ginger them up to do more was highly desirable.
The elected Councillor of the area, AbduRazak Ya’u, said that Tudunwada is known for its loyalty and respect to the traditional institution and the constituted authorities.
He assured that Tudunwada would continue to be a good symbol of development and peace not only for Kano State but to the entire Nigerian nation.
During the turbaning programme, there were horse racing, traditional dancing, drama and other traditional activities.
