The University of Maiduguri has announced a policy of instalmental payments to cushion the effect of the recent schools fees’ increase on students and their parents.
The was contained in a circular signed by the varsity’s registrar, Malam Ahmad A. Lawan.
According to the circular seen by our correspondent, students who are unable to pay at once will be permitted to pay at least 60 percent in the first semester and 40 percent in the second semester.
“With reference to the upward review of students’ registration fees which was approved by the University of Maiduguri Governing Council at its 157th meeting held on the 1st of December 2022, I write to inform you that, to cushion the effects of the upward review, the Council has already approved the payment of the fees in two installments for those who cannot afford to pay at once,” the circular read in part.
POLITICS DIGEST reports that the school fees’ review released in an earlier circular is not uniform as each of the departments has its registration fee attached to it.
