UPDATE: Court Grants Emefiele Bail
POLITICS DIGEST- Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, on Wednesday, has granted bail to the detained former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
Recall that the embattled former governor of the apex bank has been in the custody of the Federal Government security agencies since June 10, 2023, following his arrest by the operatives of the Department of the State Service DSS.
The inability of the Federal Government to produce Emefiele in court, warranted the embattled former CBN boss to file a fundamental rights enforcement suit against the FG for his release.

On November 2, trial judge, Justice Adeniyi made an order for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to release Emefiele on bail if they cannot produce him in court for arraignment.
However, on November 6, the order of the court was violated as the EFCC came to the day’s proceeding without the ex-bank Chief.
Miffed by the failure of the EFCC to produce Emefiele in court, the Judge warned that the consequences of flouting the order would be enforced in accordance with provisions of the law if they failed to bring him to court on November 8.
In a bid not to incur the wrath of the court, the EFCC brought Emefiele to court on Wednesday, upon which the Judge ordered his immediate release on bail.
