UPDATE: INEC Boss Vows to Address Shettima’s Complaints
POLITICS DIGEST – The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, has said the Commission is addressing the challenges being faced in Maiduguri, Borno state.

He told journalists during a Saturday afternoon briefing that INEC had taken note of the complaint laid by the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, that most of the polling units in Borno state were yet to commence voting.
Yakubu said the necessary measures will be put in place to ensure no one in Borno is disenfranchised.
Shettima had earlier suggested that the election termination time should be extended from 2:30pm to 10pm due to the initial hiccups.
