Walson-Jack: Creativity, Innovation to Drive My Vision for Civil Service
POLITICS DIGEST- The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has stated that she will deploy creativity and innovation to transform the Nigerian civil service into a world-class institution.
She disclosed this during a town-hall meeting with some civil servants under the aegis of the Joint Union Negotiation Council (JUNC) in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Walson-Jack, implementing the Federal Civil Service Strategic and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021–2025 remains the central vision of her leadership.
“But we are going to deploy creativity and innovation to achieve the vision. We shall be focusing on three core areas to achieve the FCSSIP-25. These areas are efficiency; accountability and transparency; and the wellbeing and development of staff,” she said.

Walson-Jack further expressed her aspiration for the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) to become the benchmark for measuring other federal ministries, as well as extra-ministerial departments and agencies, not only in Africa but globally.
“As your Head of Service, I will lead by example through openness, collaboration, and continuous improvement. My leadership style will offer support, guidance, and encouragement for our collective interest.
“We are committed to addressing issues that could negatively affect staff morale and productivity. However, I will not tolerate laziness. There will be consequences for those who fail to perform their duties efficiently,” she added.
In his remarks, Comrade Sylvester Abba, Chairman of JUNC, commended Mrs. Walson-Jack for hitting the ground running immediately after assuming office as HCSF last month.
“Within a short period, she has unveiled programmes and initiatives while also launching policies aimed at transforming the federal civil service for the better,” he said.
