Why Ayu Hailed Tambuwal, Called Him ‘Hero’ of PDP’s Presidential Convention – Aide

A media aide to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Muhammad Bello, has explained the circumstances that made Sen. Iyorchia Ayu to hail his principal as ‘Hero’ of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential convention, held last weekend.
It was gathered that Ayu, National Chairman of the PDP, after the main opposition’s presidential primaries, had ‘gleefully’ told Tambuwal that he was their convention’s ”Man of the Hour” for stepping down for Alh. Atiku Abubakar, who eventually emerged as PDP’s presidential flagbearer, ahead of next year’s general elections.
Bello, who is the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Sokoto State Governor, gave the explanation in a post on his Facebook timeline, which our Politics Digest correspondent lifted.
The post, titled, “Drama of Victory!!! When Ayu, Lamido, Others Visited Tambuwal,” reads as thus: “DRAMA OF VICTORY!!!
“WHEN AYU, LAMIDO, OTHERS VISITED TAMBUWAL
“You Are the Convention’s ‘Man of the Hour,’ ” Ayu Tells Tambuwal”

“Tambuwal (still laughing and bowing respectfully as they hugged): This one na small Chairman (toned Tambuwal in colloquial English). Thank you sir. Thank you sir.
“Ayu (still hugging Tambuwal): Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You are the hero of the Convention.
“As Ayu stepped in, it was Lamido’s turn to be greeted. Tambuwal resplendent is white warmly took the hand of the Lamido (dressed in a cream colored kaftan) as he towered over him.
“Tambuwal: Baba!
“Lamido: Distinguished! How are you?
“Tambuwal: Fine sir.
“He greeted other guests with Ayu animatedly before they retreated into his inner chambers where they had a closed door session”.
