The All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that he gets frequently attacked by opposition parties because he is the leading candidate in next year’s presidential election.
He made this known on Tuesday during an exclusive interview with the BBC in London.
The former Lagos state governor exuded the confidence that the elections will be free of malpractice and irregularities.
“I’m very confident that this election will be free and fair, and I’m the front runner, that’s why I’m getting many arrows.”

When asked about his priorities if he emerges the winner of the contest, Tinubu didn’t mince words by hinting that security and economic recovery which would bring accelerated development would be his premium priorities.
He added that such economic policy would help in getting millions of unemployed Nigerians gainfully employed and whittle down inflation.
Tinubu also promised to change the country’s monetary policy and make decisions about oil subsidy.
On the issue of security, Tinubu applauded the President Buhari-led administration for the fight against insurgency, recalling that during the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan, 17 local governments and four states in Nigeria were under the siege of foreign terrorists with their flags hoisted on them.
“It has reduced, I will defend him on that. Then, we had 17 local governments and 4 States in Nigeria where foreign jihadists had their flags hoisted, but that is no more, it has gone away,” Tinubu said.
