But there were insinuations that the KAROTA officials stayed away from the streets to avoid confrontation with the police following the arrest of one of their personnel who allegedly beat up a motorcyclist.
However, in a statement, Baffa Babba DanAgundi, director-general of the agency denied the allegations.
Mr DanAgundi explained that his agency was advised by the Kano State Police Command to withdrew its officials from the streets to avoid being attacked by the said “gunmen”.
He also denied any claims of friction between his agency and the police, describing the speculations as fake news.
He, however, confirmed the arrest of one of the KAROTA operatives who beat up and inflicted injuries on a motorcyclist.
