PDP Not Losing Sleep Over Wike, Other G5 Members – Ayu
POLITICS DIGEST – The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu on Tuesday said the five aggrieved governors of the party are not enemies of the party.
Ayu described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the enemy of the party in a statement released through his media aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam.
The party chairman said the main opposition party will win the 2023 presidential election despite the stance of the governors.
He said the fact that the 2023 election is four months away gives PDP the chance to resolve its crisis.
According to Imobo-Tswam, Ayu believes that all stakeholders in the party must work together to win the 2023 polls.

He said, “So, at the moment, we are still talking. The cards are on the table and we are still appealing to every aggrieved stakeholder. Our opponent is the APC and that is where our focus is.
“Yes, despite the opposition of the five governors, PDP will still win. Why do I say so? Elections are not going to be held tomorrow, we are still talking, the window is still open and our message is that of diplomacy. With reconciliation, we are stronger. We may have issues at the party but our eyes are on the ball. That is our focus, our opponents are not in PDP, they are outside PDP. They are APC.”
He added that Rivers state will vote for PDP in the forthcoming election, adding that the state has been PDP since 1999.
Imobo-Tswam said the state Governor, Nyesom Wike can not just throw away the history that the state is PDP, just because of issues that can be resolved.
He noted that PDP is targeting winning 25 states out of 36 and Benue, Oyo or Rivers are not left out.
