JUST IN: Winner of Presidential Election Doesn’t Need 25 Percent of FCT – Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has ruled in favour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the argument of whether he needs to win 25 percent of Abuja before he can be declared winner of the February 25, 2023 election.

Justice John Okoro on Thursday morning said the apex court was in agreement with the ruling of the Tribunal which declared that Abuja doesn’t have a special status under Section 134 of the Constitution.
Justice Okoro added that if the framers of the Constitution wanted to give Abuja a special status, it would have been spelt out unambiguously.
