Work From Home, Fintiri Tells Adamawa Civil Servants
POLITICS DIGEST – Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri has ordered civil servants on grade levels one to 14 in the state to work from home.
The governor’s directive which takes immediate effect was issued on Thursday.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri said the directive would last for the next two weeks after which it would be reviewed as exigencies of the coronavirus pandemic would dictate.
He added that people on essential services are excluded from the directive, indicating such categories of workers as those in health delivery, workers in water board, fire service, board of internal revenue, as well as security men, abattoir and media workers.
The governor regretted the inconveniences the directive would cause, stressing that it was decided purely to ensure the safety of people against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
