Yemi-Esan: Civil Service Being Revamped with Technology
POLITICS DIGEST – The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan said the civil service is currently undergoing significant reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
According to her, the reforms which included the adoption of new technologies have reached a critical stage.
Yemi-Esan spoke at the Jumat service held as part of activities to commemorate the civil service week in Abuja.
Represented by the Ministry of Police Affairs Permanent Secretary, Dr Sanni Gwarzo, she stated that Nigerians would see a digital civil service very soon.
She said, “Yes, this year, we have a special event that has many folds of blessings in it. One is that the civil service has undertaken bold steps towards reformation, and I think and am proud to say that we have reached a critical stage in that reform process.

“This is the right time to celebrate the success so far recorded. Also, the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President, the Head of Service of the Federation, has realigned the civil service reform towards the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We are in a digital age, you will see a digital civil service very soon.”
Yemi-Esan stated that a delegation was sent to understudy the Singaporean civil service system, adding that the country was not doing badly in its reform process.
She said, “So Nigeria is blessed. The civil service is reforming, and whatever Mr President is trying to achieve with the Renewed Hope Agenda, we are getting ready, or we are ready, to support him in that direction.
“And I want to say that not only that, in the last few years, many of Nigeria’s senior civil servants have travelled around the world to see what civil service is all about in many countries.
“Recently, a delegation came back from Singapore and a good number of people went, and understudied the system.
We’ve seen many systems, and believe me, we are doing very well in terms of our reform process. ”
