YPP Blasts Ngige, Says Party’s Vision Too Big for Small Minds to Undesrtand
POLITICS DIGEST – Young Progressives Party YPP, has berated the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige over his recent comments on its 2019 presidential candidate, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, saying that its vision is too big for small minds to comprehend.
The National Publicity Secretary of the, party Egbeola Wale Martins, in a press release in Abuja on Tuesday, condemned the unsolicited advice and what they describe as narrow reasoning from the Minister that Prof. Kingsley Moghalu would have been better suited to contest any other position other than the president.
The statement said, “the recent comments attributed to the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige admonishing potential presidential aspirants from the South East in the 2023 election not to make the mistake of Prof. Kingsley Moghalu in contesting on the platform of a relatively unknown party, which ironically produced a representative in the Senate is rather unfortunate and clearly shows the myopic thinking of a man who has lost touch with reality.
“The vision of the Young Progressives Party presidential candidate, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu is too big for small minds to comprehend, hence the unsolicited advice and narrow reasoning from Dr. Chris Ngige that Prof. Kingsley Moghalu would have been better suited to contest any other position other than the president”, the statement read.

“The duo of PDP and APC are visionless, rudderless and destructive, which explains why the country is presently at the precipice and it would have been hypocritical for a transformational leader in the mold of Prof. Kingsley Moghalu with a strong desire for a radical departure from the past to contest on the platforms of those responsible for destroying our past. In a nutshell, the ideology of the Young Progressives Party resonated with Prof. Kingsley Moghalu and he would not have traded the opportunity even for a free ticket from the PDP or APC.
“The only mistake made in the 2019 election was the inability of Nigerians to insist on signing into law the 2019 Amended Electoral Act Bill by President Muhammadu Buhari as this would have made rigging difficult and given us a transparent and fair view of election results. We have been vindicated and for the few who erroneously voted for APC, we believe they would have realized that voting for the APC was the greatest mistake made in the last decade.
“It is a shame that the APC, which Dr. Chris Ngige represents, deliberately refused to improve our electoral system just so they could benefit from it while failing to realize that power is transient. The conduct of the 2019 presidential election in a flawed electoral system, which gave room for electoral fraud, could not have reflected the will of the Nigerian people.
“It is foolhardy for Dr. Chris Ngige to have thought that any right-thinking Nigerian voter under the right conditions would have rewarded the APC with re-election for non-performance if not that the elections were rigged as attested to by every report made available by both local and international observers on the 2019 general elections coupled with the fact that poverty and ignorance have been heavily weaponized by a party known to have transformed Nigeria into the poverty capital of the world.
“Somebody should remind Dr. Chris Ngige that the dynamics of 2023 politics will be different as the PDP and APC will implode because of vile ambitions targeted only at controlling the treasury. Electoral reform, which has become inevitable, will improve our electoral system and Nigerians would have been wiser on account of being impoverished by the cluelessness of a sinking party, which will give rise to a credible third force that will send the likes of Ngige and his cohorts into retirement that is already overdue”, the statement noted.
