Abba K. Yusuf Bags 2019 Outstanding Politician of The Year
POLITICS DIGEST – A Kaduna based women’s organization, Kigo Matan Kwarai Co-operative Society has awarded the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s gubernatorial candidate in 2019 election in Kano state, Engr. Abba K Yusuf the 2019 outstanding politician of the year.
According to the president of the group, Hajiya Fatima Ladi, ‘Abba Gida Gida’ deserves to the award for running peaceful campaigns and actively engaging youths in politics without violence during the 2019 general elections.

She said being the most popular governorship candidate in northern Nigeria in 2019, Engr. Yusuf was a subject of discussion in many states, who even after losing the election did not instigate his massive support which according to them made Kano to maintain relative peace, during and after the election.
Other recipients of the awards in various categories include Bunun Zazzau, General Sani Sule Rtd and former Kano state Governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
While receiving the award, Engr. Abba K. Yusuf, represented by his Spokesperson Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, said women empowerment remains a catalyst for social and economic inclusion of the marginalized and vulnerable groups of the society and thanked the organisation for honouring him.
Kigo Matan Kwarai Co-operative Society is a notable group of women committed to improving the lives of Northern Nigerian women.
