JUST IN: Appeal Court Sacks Jibrin, Orders Fresh Polls
POLITICS DIGEST – The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna on Friday has nullified the election of a member representing Kiru/Bebeji Constituency, Abdulmumin Jibrin and ordered for a fresh election.
The appellate court dissolved the entire election conducted in the two local governments on the grounds that the final result contained in Form EC (8)E was mutilated.
The judgment, delivered by Justice Ajoke Adepoju, said since the result was mutilated any presumption on the actual result was a hearsay.

Recall that on September 12, the election petition tribunal had affirmed Mr Jibrin of APC as the winner of Bebeji/Kiru Federal constituency of Kano State in the February 27, 2019 election.
In a unanimous judgment, the tribunal chaired by Justice Nayai Aganaba unanimously dismissed the petition filed by Ali Datti Yako and the PDP challenging the victory of Jibrin as winner of the election.
The tribunal held that the petitioners failed to prove the allegations as contained in their petitions against the respondents.
Mr Yako and his party, PDP, had dragged Mr Jibrin, his party, APC and INEC before the tribunal, challenging the result of the Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency election over alleged irregularities.
Mr Yako had alleged that INEC wrongly declared Jibrin as the winner of the poll with 41,700 votes, while he was said to have scored 40,385 votes.
