Court Grants Obiano Bail, Seizes Ex-Anambra Governor’s Passport
POLITICS DIGEST- Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.
Obiano is facing a nine-count charge bothering n money laundering.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Obiano, on Wednesday, over alleged involvement in a N4 billion fraud.
He was said to have moved the amount from security votes into different accounts.

The offences were said to have been committed between March 2014 and March 2022.
The judge also ordered that Obiano should be restricted to Abuja.
The presiding judge ordered EFCC to deposit the defendant’s travel documents with the court registrar.
Ekwo then ordered the registrar to notify the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) of the development in order to prevent Obiano from leaving the country.
The prosecution counsel, Slyvanus Tahir, SAN, had prayed the court to remand the former governor.
He subsequently adjourned the case till March 4,5,6 and 7 for continuation of trial.
