2027: Governor Yusuf Submits Forms, Vows to Sustain Good Governance Initiatives
POLITICS DIGEST – Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially submitted his nomination papers ahead of the 2027 governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf arrived for the submission alongside prominent political figures from Kano State, including former governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and Senator Kawu Sumaila, as well as members of the House of Representatives and other party stakeholders.
Addressing journalists after completing the process, the governor described his bid for a second term as a renewed opportunity to continue serving the people of Kano State.
He said his administration plans to intensify urban renewal initiatives across the state, with greater emphasis on road construction, drainage projects, and modernization of markets.

According to him, rural development will also remain a central focus of his government through expanded investments in feeder roads, potable water supply, healthcare facilities, and educational infrastructure in rural communities.
Governor Yusuf further pledged increased support for agriculture and empowerment programmes targeted at farmers and youths, noting that employment generation and youth development would continue to drive government policies.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of education and healthcare services across the state, while stressing that peace, unity, and inclusive governance would remain fundamental principles of his leadership.
The governor also said his administration would continue engaging relevant stakeholders to advance development in Kano State and align with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda in order to attract more federal projects and opportunities to the state.
He expressed appreciation to residents of Kano for their continued support and confidence in his administration, promising to sustain transparent governance and people-focused development initiatives.
