‘Protect Your Votes, Remain Calm’ — Oyebamiji Speaks as Osun Results Collation Begins
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has urged his supporters to remain calm and vigilant as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commences the collation of results from Saturday’s governorship election.
Oyebamiji, in a statement issued shortly after the commencement of the collation exercise, urged the people of Osun State to protect the sanctity of the votes cast and ensure that the will of the electorate is not undermined.
He also appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful and resolute, particularly as unverified figures and purported election results circulated on social media platforms.
“Protect the sanctity of the votes cast by our people. Do not allow anyone, under any guise or through any means, to subvert the will of the people or undermine the mandate they have freely chosen to give us in today’s election,” Oyebamiji said.

The APC candidate said the journey to the election had been long, expressing confidence that the collective efforts of his supporters and the people of Osun State would yield the desired result.
“We have come too far to allow our collective efforts to be compromised. Let us remain peaceful, watchful and confident as we await the final outcome. May the will of the people prevail,” he said.
Oyebamiji thanked the people of Osun State for turning out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility and make their voices heard through the ballot.
He also commended INEC and the security agencies for their roles in the electoral process, describing their conduct as professional and committed.
As collation continues at the various levels, the APC candidate urged his supporters to remain vigilant and avoid actions that could disrupt the process.
He stressed the importance of allowing the official collation and declaration process to run its course, saying the mandate freely given by the electorate must be protected.
Oyebamiji called for continued peace and restraint among political parties and their supporters, expressing optimism that the final outcome would reflect the wishes of the people of Osun State.
