Former Ekiti Governor, 25 Others Get Federal Appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 persons into the boards and leadership of 10 federal government agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The appointments, announced on Monday in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.
Fayose will chair the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as members and non-executive directors. The board also comprises the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three executive directors already serving in the agency.
President Tinubu also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salary and Wages Commission, with former House of Representatives member, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, named Secretary of the commission.
Other appointments to the commission include Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi), who will serve as commissioners and members.
In another key reshuffle, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), was redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.

The President also named Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Similarly, Engineer Julius Oloro was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Ilorin, replacing the late Dr A.R. Kamal, who passed away in January.
For the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, President Tinubu approved the constitution of a new board headed by Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
The President also appointed Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) in April.
In the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Gisaor Vincent Iorja was appointed Executive Director (Finance) to replace Mathias Byuan, who resigned to pursue his governorship ambition in Benue State. Iorja is an economist, legal scholar and academic currently serving as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).
According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance the performance of critical public institutions across the country.
