INEC Alerts Nigerians Over Fake Voter Registration Website
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians against a fake website purporting to offer an ongoing nationwide online voter registration exercise.
INEC issued the warning in a public notice on Saturday, identifying the fraudulent website as pvc-inecnigeria-org.blogspot.com.
According to the commission, the website falsely claims that a nationwide voter registration window is open from September 28 to October 27, 2026.
INEC said the platform has no affiliation with the commission and urged members of the public not to click on the link or submit any personal information through it.

“Members of the public are strongly advised not to click on the link or submit any personal information on the website, as doing so may expose them to the risk of having their sensitive personal data harvested or misused,” the commission said in the notice posted on X.
The electoral body clarified that the voter registration exercise ended on July 26, 2026, stressing that any information suggesting that a new nationwide online registration exercise is currently ongoing through the identified website is false.
The fake platform reportedly advertises what it describes as the “Final Phase of Nationwide Online Voter Card Registration,” claiming to provide services for updating voter registration details, transferring registration to another polling unit and replacing damaged or lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
It also claims that voter registration and PVC delivery are free.
INEC, however, urged Nigerians to disregard the platform and remain vigilant against attempts to obtain their personal information through fraudulent electoral websites.
The commission advised the public to verify information concerning voter registration and other electoral activities only through its official communication channels.
