Kwara APC Stakeholders Rejects G15’s Reasons for Rally Postponement, Cites Lack of Support
The mainstream All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has rejected the explanation offered by the G15 faction for postponing its planned rally, insisting that the event was shelved because it failed to attract sufficient support from party members.
The party’s position comes in response to a statement by the group, known as “Kwara APC G15 Supporters,” which attributed the postponement to other factors.
In a statement issued by Kwara Progressives, the mainstream APC described the faction’s narrative as misleading, arguing that the decision to postpone the rally reflected “the realities on the ground” rather than the reasons advanced by the group.

The party maintained that the APC primary elections were conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution under the supervision of officials from the national headquarters, adding that all candidates, including Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, emerged through a democratic process.
According to the statement, the large turnout at the recent #KwaraNdupe rally in support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the APC leadership demonstrated that the party’s grassroots support remains firmly with the mainstream leadership.
The APC also dismissed allegations that Kwara had become a “terrorised state” and claims that local government funds were used to finance the solidarity rally, describing both accusations as unfounded.
While acknowledging that political disagreements are inevitable in a democracy, the party urged aggrieved members to pursue their concerns through established internal party mechanisms instead of questioning the outcome of the primaries.
The G15 group has yet to publicly respond to the latest statement by the mainstream APC.
